Single-Wound Film (SW)

Single-wound shrink film is a flat, single-layer web of film supplied on a roll. It is ideal for applications that require a flat sheet of film or separate film webs for packaging. Single-wound film offers clear product visibility, dependable shrink performance, and a professional finished appearance.

It is commonly used with automated shrink packaging systems, side-seal machines, and applications where the film is formed around the product during the packaging process.

Center-Fold Film (CF)

Center-fold shrink film is pre-folded lengthwise, creating two layers of film on one roll. The fold acts as one side of the package, allowing the product to be placed between the layers before the remaining sides are sealed.

Center-fold film is a popular choice for L-bar sealers and shrink tunnel systems. It provides an efficient way to package boxes, printed materials, retail products, food items, cosmetics, and other products in a clean, protective shrink package.

Find the Right Size for Your Application

Our polyolefin shrink film is available in a variety of widths, gauges, and roll lengths to fit your product and packaging equipment. Whether you need center-fold or single-wound film, choosing the correct size helps create a clean seal, reduce waste, and give your products a professional finish.

How to Choose Your Film Width

Start by measuring your product’s:

  • Width — side to side

  • Height — bottom to top

  • Length — front to back

For most center-fold shrink film applications, use this formula:

Product width + product height + 2–3 inches = recommended film width

For example, a product that is 10" wide and 5" high will typically require an 18" wide center-fold film roll.

Center-Fold vs. Single-Wound Film

Center-fold film is pre-folded to create two layers of film on one roll. It is a popular choice for L-bar sealers and shrink tunnels.

Single-wound film is supplied as one flat layer of film and is commonly used on compatible automatic and side-seal shrink packaging systems.

Choose the Right Film Gauge

  • 45–60 gauge: lightweight products

  • 75 gauge: general-purpose packaging

  • 100 gauge or higher: heavier, sharp-edged, or irregularly shaped products
